As part of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range, Ham Rong Mountain is one of the few mountains in Vietnam that have clear and beautiful figurativeness. 
Ham Rong Mountain peak rises as dragon-head. The name of Ham Rong was derived from the legend that, in primitive age there were a couple of dragons that became attached to each other while the deluge was rising high. Walking up, they hurriedly separated from each other but failed. They were drifted to different places. After a long time, the female dragon was petrified but still tried to raise its eyes to the male dragon on the Hoang Lien Mountain in the west because its instinct for survival remained.
Currently, the Ham Rong Mountain is home to a number of some pretty orchid gardens and "rock gardens".

Cat Cat cultural village was formed in the 19th century after families of some ethnic minority groups from northern Vietnam mountainous areas, especially the Black H’Mong gathered here. They lived next to each other along the mountainside and cultivated the soil around their home.
Rice and corn were grown in terraced fields, and traditional handicrafts such as twisting flax and weaving fabric have been well-kept. Through times, Cat Cat Village has transferred to one appealing feature of Sapa’s tourism.

Ta Phin Village

Ta Phin Village is located in Ta Phin Commune, Sapa District, about 12km northeast of Sapa Town. The village is surrounded by mountains and owns spectacular rice terraces.

Being a minority ethnic people market, Bac Ha market is located 80 km from Sapa. Bac Ha is famous for its Sunday market which is a trading center and meeting place for couples, friends, and relatives.

Every Sunday, Bac Ha hosts the biggest fair near the mountainous highlands and the Chinese border. It is the largest and most colorful market in the area and attracts throngs of villagers from the surrounding hill tribes. Some walk several hours for the weekly opportunity to trade and barter food, animals, clothes and household goods. 80km from Sapa, Bac Ha Market is not only the place for buying and selling, but also a place for cultural and sentiment exchanging. On the market days, right from the early morning, all paths and mountain roads are full of people and horses pouring to the market. People usually sit in groups around a soup pan (“thang co”) eating and chatting.

Muong Hoa Spring is the downstream of the famous waterfall named Thac Bac. The stream is like a giant python winding; along the streams are terraced fields that look like "stairs to heaven". In the season of ripe rice, the golden glitter reflects on the water, reflecting the magic beauty of this valley.

Muong Hoa Valley is also home to the famous ancient Sapa stone field. This strange stone area is interspersed between plants and terraced fields of ethnic minorities. Stretching over 4 km long, 2 km wide with at least 159 stones, contains many mysterious images, the stone field used to be the focus of many Vietnamese, Russian, French and Australian scientists but until now no one has been able to explain their origin.

Both populations of ancient stones with beautiful carving are located in Ban Pho. With the big stones, it has many different sculptures on the surface. Especially, there have various postures and 11 motifs strange shape. Most scientists evaluated that it is the great heritage of mankind.

People found many similarities with the Dong Son culture, which has a date from 2300 to 3000 years. The mysterious graphics of the Sapa’s ancient stones can be of many ethnic groups living in different ages. They draw a primitive picture or sophisticated picture to express many different cultures. They can be either Dao or Mong.

The scene of the bustling Coc Ly Market bending along the bank of Chay river is so poetic. No one knows why this market is named Coc Ly because its name means "the root of the plum tree" in the ethnic language.
